Canadian and permanent resident students
Your residency for admission purposes is determined by the legal residence stated on your American Medical College Application Services application.
- You must be a citizen of the United States, Canada or a U.S. Permanent Resident.
- If your educational background includes work outside the United States, you must have completed two years of coursework, including required courses, at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.
Canadian citizens are treated as non-residents for both admission and tuition purposes. Typically, 15 percent to 20 percent of our class is non-resident. We have approximately 6,000 applicants each year for a class of 290.
